HPSO is starting back up the first of the New Year in it’s new location at 3365 Wrightsboro Rd. ( just below New Life Christian Center’s parking lot …next to Baldino’s Subs.) Thank you for your prayers while we relocated to service the community better. God bless.

More and more people are finding it hard to get by in this economy. The people of God who are called his children….now is the time to step up. PRAY…SERVE…DO SOMETHING! To long we have been silence…content to go to church …be blessed ourselves. People of God step up…you are blessed to be a blessing! Read the book “Radical” by David Platt…it will change your perspective of what God has called his people to do…we are to “go into the World”…we are to go and “compel them to come.” I challenge you to read the book make the commitment when complete. Then, Go in the name of Jesus! My Bible tells me that Jesus when around “doing good”. Our example is He!
Then, He tell his disciples…”Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
….Brothers and Sisters …we are his disciples!!!

I’m two days homeless. I’m sure I’m fortunate at the moment, since I’m not *completely* on the street. I don’t wish to overstay my welcome here though, sleeping on the couch of an old acquaintance. He has referred me to you, and I’m doing what I can to get on my feet somehow. I’m disabled, with a criminal record (long story.) I’ve been clean for over 18 months and all I want is to live a decent life. I’m very hopeful, though a bit lost right now…

Just a few months ago the shelves were empty at HPSO. God has turned that around and more food and finances are coming in. More is needed …because the need is great!
If we are the body…what can we do? Ask yourself that…and “just do it.”

I am amazed at what God is doing at HPSO. On Tuesday the 22nd of December, I stopped in to see Sheila Harris and Linda Mickens and the building was surrounded with cars and people packed in the foyer to get much needed food. I am reminded of what Jesus said, “the harvest is truly great, but the laborers are few.” I am believing God to bring in the laborers, the resourses, and the finances…because it is His work. Thanks to all at HPSO ..who labor is His field…feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and teaching hope in Christ!

Ms. Harris, last spring I worked briefly as a volunteer with the GED program. Over the summer break, I inquired several times about getting involved again in August. I was told that a volunteer training would be held before classes resumed and I would receive a call or email regarding that. I never did receive a call, but by that time I had alot of hardship and things going on in my life, so I failed to follow up on my own in a timely manner. I would like to reconnect at this time. I really believe in the effectiveness of all of the ministries of HPSO, and personally I have been blessed by the Angel Food Ministry. I just want to be a part of something that is helping others. I have a friend that recently moved from Ft. Lauderdale to Augusta with her 6 children and is in need of help. I have lost her address but know she is attending your ministry. I wish to send her a money gift for her birthday and for her son’s birthday this week as well. If there is any way that this ministry could reach out to her and her children. She is a dear Christian spiritual woman of God. She has been through so much and has an incredible testimony of God’s faithfulness as well as an awesome voice that bursts out in praise to God. You’ve got to get to know her and her awesome kids…they sing too. I think her phone is not working right now as I have tried several times to call her. She lives on Jeanine Way but I can’t remember the number. She will never ask for help or assistance because she knows the Lord always provides. I am hoping someone can connect with her and assist her and also be able to let her call me in Kansas City. Thank you for all you will be doing in the Lord’s name

I have a young daughter with 3 children who needs help with employment, decent housing and parenting skills (bascially) trying to get her life on track. I have done all I can financially and emotionally. She attends New Life but its hard for her to get past the discouraging elements in her life. As for myself and my daughters we are currently seeking grief counselling. On 11/11/09 my son took his life – but what makes it even devastating was that he stated that noone had his back and he was turning his back on us. I watched a recording of my son wrapping a cord around his neck and hanging himself. I thought I forgave him but I have not. He spoke with his grandmother and son the night before which made me angry, jealous, hurt and sad and the pain is unbearable. I never blamed GOD because I know this is not his work and I continue to ask for comfort and understanding. I am now afraid to leave my daughters alone and I don’t want to be alone. I tried many times to get my son to attend church and if not pray – but I stayed committed to the WORD. My son is now dead.

A few short months ago I was homeless and without a job. My life seemed hopeless and I didnt know what I could do to turn it around there didnt seem to be any options for me. It wasnt until I took advantage of the oppurtunity given to me by HPSO to be able to take the ged test that my life began to turn around. I would not have been able to do this without there help being able to take the classes and test without cost to me. My life is very different now my journey is not complete but I know the rd that I am on is the onw I should be on. I thank God for the help given to me by HPSO and the people that have been brought into my life recently. Your life can change but you have to be ready to accept those changes and put in the work to get to where you want to be in life. With Gods help and direction and a little effort on your part anything is possible. Thanks to everyone at HPSO for everything you did for me.

Hi, my name is Pamela Bartos and I have a sister Anita Bartos who needs more help than me and her family can provide. She is going through a divorce which is just eating her up. She has two little boys ages 6 and 2 who needs her but in her state of mind I am so afriad that she is going to either commit suicide or get her rights to her boys taken away which would just eat at her and probably make her be suicidal. She lost her job, has a huge debt, drinks and smokes, and has other unhealthy habits. She isn’t a bad person she is just very lost and it is hard for her to seek help. She wants help but she doesn’t know how to find it. Is there a program out there that she could go to and get the help she needs like spiritual. she needs that more than anything to find God in her life. I think that needs to happen before anything else happens. She has two little boys that need her to be independant, stable, and healthy in all ways. They would be torn if anything happened to her. So, please help if you can.
